Our Trainers:

Haydn Brooks – Lead PT

With a passion for fitness and training that stems back into my youth, I know first-hand that serious fitness change requires more than just the body. Currently studying Sport and Exercise Psychology at Loughborough University, I know the importance of a strong mindset to ensure goals are achieved.

In addition to having a number of successful personal training clients, which I help to achieve a variety of physique and performance goals, I can also provide a wide range of support online. Whether that be training tips, nutrition advice, or simply motivational help, I can help you towards achieving your fitness goals.

I have worked with a range of client populations in the past. I have helped competitive athletes improve their performance through training and weight loss methods. I have experience with adult populations, drastically improving strength in individuals who are 40+. As well as specialising in manageable training methods for women looking to improve their body shape and reach a variety of manageable fitness goals.

Having lived a competitive sporting career myself, I have undergone 7 invasive surgeries, some due to injury. As a result, I have a wealth of information on how to cope with, recover from, and help prevent injuries, restoring the body to a pain free state, and enabling fitness progress to continue no matter the personal issue. I can be of great service providing knowledge and guidance to keep you moving forwards through your fitness journey.

Testimonials

Hannah F: 22, 3-5 sessions/week + swimming

“I would highly recommend Haydn. Haydn has helped me immensely with improving my confidence to train again after a back injury. He showed great empathy and understanding, quickly acknowledging my abilities to set me realistic challenges and not letting me give up easily. Really putting the Personal in PT! His amazing motivation skills and brilliant energy all the time allowed me to achieve my goal of losing weight in a noticeable way whilst finding a love for regularly exercising again, helping me drop over 13kg in a matter of months. He has unreal determination to ensure you turn into the person you want to be. I am now continuing to work with him to achieve my goal of getting toned and stronger and always look forward to my session. He is patient with me when introducing lots of new exercises and weight training, breaking moves down for me in a simple way to ensure I understand what, why and how to get the best results. Overall Haydn is really friendly, and I have been so impressed with the outstanding knowledge offered.”

Beverly S: 2-3 sessions/week

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the training sessions and it has been an absolute pleasure to have you as my trainer. My knees are good after the session!

“Haydn was my personal trainer for nearly a year and I would highly recommend him. I loved the variety of training offered and support during some tough weeks. He always offered encouragement and was very knowledgable on not only the mechanism of the human body but also offered advice on supplements which may help during training. Always encouraging me to do my best and making the most of each exercise.”

Helen McDermott: 57, 4-5 sessions/week

“Haydn was a personal trainer at the gym I went to. I found the sessions Haydn took were so good, I looked forward to them as his knowledge and professionalism made each and every session very worthwhile.  Haydn pushes you to achieve more and suggests different ways to lift and make the most of your time and ability.

“Where I found Haydn to be so helpful was after I’d sustained a rotator cuff injury – I had to take a step  back and almost start from scratch with my right arm. Haydn knew which exercises would strengthen my arm and helped me to gain confidence to gradually and safely increase the weights again. Haydn is a very hard working considerate trainer who I recommend to all! He certainly knows his stuff!”

Curtis Turton: 21, 1-3 sessions/week

“I’ve been a friend of Haydn’s for a long time and know he has a huge amount of interest and knowledge in the sports/science area. I didn’t start going to the gym until I was a bit older so I wasn’t the most confident on what machines to use or how to structure my workouts. Haydn gave me solid advice on my form, workout structure and also variation of workouts shortly after I began at the gym. He made it really relaxing and enjoyable for me which was a huge problem at the start because I didn’t find it enjoyable by myself whatsoever. His knowledge on workout structure was brilliant and I could notice a difference straight away with how my body felt and how it reacted to the workouts I was completing. Haydn is open and honest about poor form to ensure no bad habits are created, which is exactly what you want from a PT whether you’re just starting out at the gym or been going for years with no advice. All in all, I felt comfortable and saw a real difference in my attitude towards the gym – the initial growth I felt and saw spoke for itself. I’d highly recommend Haydn, not just from a friends perspective but also from someone who was never confident, competent or interested in the gym before he helped!!”

Tom Dunkley: 21, 3-4 gym + 2-3 boxing sessions/week

“Haydn has an unequalled knowledge of all aspects of health and fitness! He is more than just a personal trainer. He will teach you how to live a fully healthy and happy life, all you have to do is listen and do what he says. If you have any questions he is able to give a detailed answer which has improved my knowledge of fitness massively and has made it so much easier to stay fit.

“I personally had knee and ankle injuries which made it difficult for me to train and play sport. Haydn has helped me build them back so that I am able to box again. He is extremely positive in his approach and always pushes you to dig deep, get angry and get those extra few reps to really get the most out of every training session. He has helped me completely transform my physique and as a result that has had a great impact on my confidence which allows me to attack life with a whole new attitude! To many more years of training! J”

Jackie C: 1-2 sessions / week
